The Fem chair was designed by Gijs Niemeijer and Floor van Ditzhuyzen in 1995.
The starting points for the design were simplicity in form and use of materials, comfort, solidity and elegance. The chair found its application on a large scale in the faculty building for the first time Economy & Management in Utrecht - designed by Mecano architects - where 1350 units were placed.
In order to create a varied interior image when placed in large quantities, there is one in addition to the basic design two variants: one with a hole pattern and one with a high backrest. For example, 10% of the total number of seats is carried out in the variant with holes, the space in which they are placed acquires a lively character. The Fem chair also comes into its own in small ensembles.
Basic version: mat chrome-plated base with clear varnished beech shell.
If desired shell stained in color. Stackable up to 10 pieces.
